Frequently Asked Questions

What information do I need to order glasses?
Your prescription, which your Optician must provide you with by law after your eye test. All you have to do is copy the prescription into the correct box when ordering. When ordering distance or reading lenses we recommend you fill in all the prescription details.

How can I obtain my prescription if I do not have it?
Go to the Optician how tested your eyes and ask for a copy, this they must provide you with, as long as it is not over 2 years old.

What does PD mean?
Pupil distance. It is the measurement between the centre of one pupil to the other pupil. If your Optician has not supplied this information, we will set your lenses at 62mm for distance lenses and 58mm for reading.

Are the frames and lenses you sell the same quality as my Optician would provide?
Yes. All our frames have flex arms for greater durability and our lenses are made of CR39 plastic which are light.

Can my prescription glasses be made into sunglasses?
Yes When ordering your glasses you will be offered the opportunity to select various tints and coating options.

How long will my order take to be delivered?
We always state 28 days but you should receive our glasses within 7 working days

Can I order bifocal or Varifocal lenses?
We only offer the service of reglazing your old frames with varifocal or bifocal lenses if you have theses lenses already fitted in your frames. We can provide this service only because we can glaze the new lenses into your old frames by using your old lens setting.

My prescription is outside the ranges shown on the Prescription Details Form. Can I still order?
For technical reasons, we can only supply single vision prescription spectacles with lenses of a spherical power between +8.00 and - 8.00
and a cylindrical power between +4.00 and -4.00 Any lens with combined power (sph and cyl) above – or + 8.00 is a complex lens and will incur added charges. Please contact for details.

What are Polarised Lenses?
